    Understanding the dates

    When something happened

Attacks use incident dates. Reports on patterns of harm are labeled “Report published”; they may cover months of abuse. An article can revisit an earlier event without moving it forward in time.

    When it was reported

Source records currently use imported archive dates. These are not verified publication dates. Unknown dates and date mismatches remain visible.

    When it was checked

Source access checks and actual preserved copies have their own timestamps. A working link or a captured page does not verify its claims.

    Collection, connections and privacy

Exact duplicate URLs are grouped. The original import remains unchanged. The interactive timeline starts in 2023; earlier records remain in the static reading edition. Draft events are never published automatically.

Threads are suggestions based on words in imported titles, summaries and categories. Reading routes group sources by subject. Key events cite institutional reports and original reporting. Their dates and summaries received an AI-assisted source check on 4 October 2026, not human editorial approval. Related archive reading is labeled separately. Selected milestones currently extend through May 2026; All articles includes reporting through September 2026.

This is a text-first timeline. Images come from the imported archive records and load as they enter view. Image context and rights are not independently verified. Hide images at any time; the complete text record remains available.

Saved citations and notes stay in this browser, without an account. Shared links include your filters and selected source, but never your notes or saved packet. Storage restrictions may prevent persistence.
